Yes, but in talking to Brent there may be other issues that caused my sub to die and the new amp won't solve that issue. I'm going to have to wait for an entirely new sub. The wait begins again. \:\(

The extra resolution is nice, though there can be an awful lot of grain to the picture, depending on the scene.

I wonder if the exrtra res is bringing out the grain - like good speakers making a bad recording sound worse.

I've been re-watching Cowboy Bebop, and here's the trailer for the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film:

It is indeed the resolution of the Blu-ray disc exceeding the master which allows one to see the grain. But I don't think of it as a bad thing, it is just proof that you are seeing every bit of detail that was originally recorded.

Perhaps it is because I'm a photographer and I've long since become used to seeing film grain that is doesn't bother me as much as it seems to other people. I say embrace the grain, it is an organic part of the picture.

Grain can work, but this grain was a bit much. It just makes me think it wasn't filmed as well as other movies.

I've been enjoying the series "Life on Mars" and was disappointed last night to see the promo for the SERIES finale.

One and done. Too bad.
