The only thing that was really shocking about this is that there were not one, or even two, but three of these brainiacs involved in the same Jackass-inspired (had to be) stunt.

Makes you wonder if crowd psychology is active even in small groups, or if it's just typically stupid peer pressure at play. JP?

"The New Hampshire Union Leader says Dubois' suit contends he suffered permanent brain damage."

I'm guessing the plaintiff argument was that this was obviously a pre-existing condition.

Darwin missed this one.

Hopefully this news will not make it to the trapped miners in Chile.

Hey I'm from your neck of the woods Michael, I was born in the Kern County General Hospital ... quite some time ago.

My Grandparents lived in Bodfish near Lake Isabella. Learned to waterski there... good memories.

Wow Rick small world, It is now called Kern Medical Center,
http://www.kernmedicalcenter.com/body.cfm?id=14, probably looks a little different now. smile

My wife is employed by Bakersfield Medical Center, but works at their clinic where we live in Tehachapi. I've been trying unsuccessfully in the last year to try and get her to take a job on the Central Coast. She loves the mountains, I love the water, she works, I stay home, she wins. cry

I know where that is, funny thing is I had never been to Kern County or even heard of Tehachapi until we moved here 8 years ago from the OC.

See there Mark ... back in the day they were called hospitals, today they're called Medical Centers.

We'll have to ask Jack what they were referred to prior to being called hospitals. laugh

Michael I barely remember California, we moved whenever I was three and about all I remember is snow on the mountaintops and bright oranges in the trees but I'd really like to make a trip out there one of these days just for the heck of it.

If you go back to the middle ages it seems that medical texts were called "leech books" but hospitals were still called hospitals.
