I think it's classic.

I watched The Pretenders live at Cornbury last night on HDNet. Wow!

Regina Spektor performed on Letterman tonight. She gets a bit nervous on TV performances, I think, but I think she pulled it off, and seeing her break into her huge smile when shaking hands with Letterman made me melt.

I would have thrown the balance off, I think.

I finished Generation Kill today. I liked it a lot.

I've been trying out the first season of True Blood. It's a well-made show, and entertaining enough, but the whole vampire thing just doesn't work for me. I've never seen or read any vampire stuff that I've really liked. Plus, there's a bit too much sex for me. It just ends up making me feel uncomfortable.

At least it's funny seeing the guy I just saw as a serious, even-tempered soldier in Generation Kill as a creepy vampire.

The novels were actually pretty good. But yes, lots of sex...

My wife and I like True Blood. We started watching it last season because one of my wife's guilty pleasures is reading trashy vampire novels, which she embarrassingly admits that she occasionally enjoys. According to her, they're mostly all about the sex - enough to detract from what little plot there actually is. So from that perspective, True Blood is accurate to the books. ;\)

But again, it is HBO. Both HBO and Showtime can do whatever they want. They take advantage of it.

Ok not to change the subject but, We watched August Rush over the weekend. My wife and I originally saw it at the theater and liked it so much we bought the DVD. We really like how they were able to blend the rock and classical music together. Hearing the sound track on an exceptional sound system gave it new meaning, it helped me to visualize how August heard the music he composed. I throughly enjoyed the pipe organ scene as well as surround sounds of the city. IMHO a very good story and an excellent sound track.
