Last night I listened to the new Bellowhead album - Matachin. Bellowhead are an English folk big band. They have a terrific brass section, along with the more typical folk instruments - fiddle, accordion etc. They are supposed to be brilliant live.

Well, I decided to listen to an album I hadn't listened to in years which is A-ha's "Hunting High and Low". I had forgotten how much I like this album. Now, what inspired me to listen to it again was this. I just saw it on YouTube yesterday and had a good laugh.

Very good, Mary, but I'm still wondering what you thought of the other CDs besides Daphnis et Chloe.

That was my sister's favorite band back in the day. She was all set to go to see their concert, but she got in trouble by not cleaning her room. No concert. \:\(

My parents didn't mess around.

Still, that's a great song (the real version) and I admit I like it a lot.

Yeah, even if it costs me a Man Point, I'll agree that I've always liked the song and thought the video was creative and well-done!

Porcupine Tree - Signify
"Dark Matter" has to be one of their top 5 songs.

Also Sprach Zarathustra--Living Stereo recording, on the M80s (for once!)

Unfortunately, I think that I don't really like turn of the last century classical music. Sigh.

Lately, a great Toronto punk/hardcore band called F*cked Up (censored by me, not sure if cursing is kosher on the board). Their new record Chemistry of Common life is amazing. Been listening to it for a month now.
Who says punk rock records can't have 70+ tracks on a single song?

"O" by Tilly and the Wall. Rocked just a bit harder than "Bottoms of Barrels" and is quite a bit darker, but I enjoyed it immensely.

Amplified tap dancing is fun to listen to.

Also listened to Oasis' new one, "Dig Out Your Soul." I'd like to say it was good, well the beginning and end were. The middle I took a nap through.
