As mentioned in my other post, I've been comparing my old center channel to my new one. I chalk up the sound differences between the 2 speakers to the tweeters...the PSB is a 1/2" poly-flare dome with ferrofluid. My mains(also PSB) are 1"treated textile dome dome with ferrofluid . The Axiom has two 1" titanium tweeters. Can you elaborate on tweeter differences and advantages and disadvantages of each type. What made you decide to use Titanium?

There is NO comparison between a Poly tweeter and a GOOD titanium tweeter. On very few designs, poly can be made to sound ok, but on most, it's the cheapest type of tweeter there is next to a paper cone on the midrange. GOOD metal tweeters such as those on the axioms are far superior to poly.

The underlying premise behind the use of metal diaphragms for both the woofers and tweeters is that the diaphragm will not distort in any way during use, especially at high volume.
