If I mount a 70 inch above my in-cabinet VP160, I'm thinking the best I can do sonically here is to mount the 2 M22's on the wall below the TV, which will put them a few inches lower than they now are. Then buy 3 more M22's and mount them across the top of the TV, angled downward.

For the top I've thought of 3 M22, 3 M2, 3 M3, or 3 QS8. The M22's would probably look the worse, but sound the best. These would be for the upper L/C/R. Any ideas here? Could also mount 3 VP100's across the top that would probably look better (maybe), but the M22's would probably sound better (???)

All speakers would be the boxy kind because I don't really care for the sound of the on-wall kind.

Is there an option at add all of the above?

I could probably make it fit.


I think 3 M22's across the top would look the worse, but sound the best. I'm in it for the sound. That is, to squeeze the best sound out of the smallest speakers, because there just isn't room in this smallish living room for the bigger speakers. If the sound difference between M2 and M22 was marginal, I'd go with the M2, but it's more than just marginal, IMO.

I doubt that QS8's would work well here.

After a trip to a Magnolia BB store yesterday and a talk with the sales men and some time viewing the TV's. I think I've decided on a Panasonic *edited TC-65VT50. The new model 65 inch plasma. I can't find a 70 inch I like. All of the LED/LCD tv's have off angle viewing problems and I notice more motion movement problems with them. I hate that flickering movements.

I would of gone with last years Panasonic TC-65TV30. They are beautiful sets, but the killer for me is the IR glasses for 3D for that TV that they probably aren't even making anymore. The new technology for glasses is Bluetooth. The new Bluetooth glasses will also be exchangeable amongst manufacturers, so perhaps 3rd party venders will be making them.

*edited: Originally I said GT50. Then I've discovered that the price difference between GT and VT will probably only be $400. If that is the case, then I'd spring for the VT.

Due date for my living room HT version 3 makeover should be right around the 1st of May. If I come up a little short on cash, I've been promised a loan to make up the difference.

What I'll need is the 65 inch Panasonic plasma TC-P65VT50, 3 black boxy M22's (+ the 2 I have) and 4 black Full Metal Brackets (+ the 1 I have).

Then find a good professional calibrator. I can randomly find one on avsforum. Anyone know a good experienced one that would come to the Kansas/Missouri area?

I'm going to be needing 5 wall mount brackets for the M22 bookcase speakers. I have a single FMB that I ordered from Axiom that my M2 over the TV is mounted on. It seems to have a flaw that positions the speaker to always point slightly to the right. Soon, I'm going to take this apart and see if it's because of something I did that has caused this. It's not off a lot, just seems to be about half a click. If I take the next position to the left, I think it would be now pointing to the left a half click instead.

Has anyone else noticed this? or is it just me, or perhaps a faulty bracket. If I can't get them to point exactly straight ahead, then I'll be wanting to order from another source.
