M22 vs. M80. Can they be compared?

Can there be a comparison between the two? I'm looking for music and sonic quality as well as HT application. This would be for a 3000 sq. ft room (15x20). Thanks all! I understand that the M22 would need a sub to have a chance, but again, looking for the best sound possible from Axiom in my setting.

Also they play a bit lower, but not so much that you'd notice too much.

Has anyone heard both the M60 and M80 and compared the two?

Misfit, during my initial read, I missed the "15x20" and only saw the "3000 sq ft". Obviously you meant 300.
I have the M80's in a 16x18 ft room, and honestly, I wouldn't want to have them in a room any smaller than this. Placement has been tricky, and because of room constraints, the "sweet spot" is very narrow.
Having said this though, I love the 80's, and could never see myself "moving down" to the 60's.
If layout is not restricted by the "WAF", by all means spring for the 80's. If it is, Snippy is right - the 60's are a better choice.

OK OK I give up.... I've seen the references to the "WAF" for a long time but can someone please fill us in on the exact meaning of "WAF"?
Thanks
Bob

Yep, that's what it stands for. And it was in reference to the layout of the room. My wife is constantly hounding me - "Can't you move them closer to the wall?........."

Indeed. The reason that I got to upgrade from my 10-year-old Technics rack system is that my wife was sick of the giant tower speakers. Having been to a Bose store at the mall, I think that's what she was picturing when we discussed "smaller speakers and surround sound". She's been very kind about my M22/VP100/QS4 setup (she can see how happy I am), but I know she's distressed that they aren't as small as the Bose. Me going for the M60/VP150/QS8 setup just wouldn't have worked--too low on the SAF scale.

Heck, if the size or appearance of your speakers is less annoying to your spouse than finding the toilet seat up, you're home free!

Yes...luckily for me I have my wife trained. I just tell her that we watch movies all the time...so it's an investment Now I just need to get those 80s. Anyone have any problems playing them at a distance of 12 feet? Thanks!

You should be fine. With our current layout, the couch is about 8ft away. Far from ideal, but it is the "WAF" rearing it's ugly head. I have a computer chair about 14ft away. This is my preferred listening position.
