For the two couples I went with, yeah. Ha ha. At least there was another single guy in our group, so I wasn't the only loser.

Seeing the previews of Johnny Deps new movie Dark Shadows reminded me of an old soap of the same name I used to watch and get scared out of my wits back in the 60's.

I found the series on Netflix and have been watching a few episodes. My wife and I had to laugh because now it seems so corny, but back then we weren't exposed to the realistic gore and violence that is so prevalent in movies and for that matter the news that has so desensitized us to really being scared or shocked by anything that is thrown at us.

Just finished watching 'The A-Team'. Much of the scenery looked very familiar - many of the 'European scenes' were filmed mostly around Vancouver & VR Island. There were some fleeting shots of our giant Martin Mars water bomber that is based 30 miles from me on Sproat Lake near Port Albernie.

I recently picked up this Blu-Ray at Future Shop for $5.00 where I traded in that dark, horrible 'Watchmen' DVD that I couldn't sit through. 'The A-Team' is a typical over-the-top action film with lots of quite good visual & sound effects. Overall it was OK, I guess - certainly worth the $5.00 anyway...

I've been watching "The B* in Apartment 23", it's better than it aught to be, and pretty darn funny.

I watched the first episode when it was free on Amazon Instant Video. I may have to look into watching more episodes at some point.

Eagleheart is still making me way too happy, even when the episode is about the blues.

Haywire

I liked it enough in the theater to get it on Blu-ray. Looks and sounds very nice. Not a perfect action movie, but at least it has a different feel from most.
