Sorry, they don't count if you didn't watch them on VHS.

This is not really on topic - One thing my wife and I run into - we will have the daughters in for a movie night - playing an older movie that we saw "back in the day" and remember as a "good movie". We hype it up and then when we watch, we are appalled by the language or certain scenes. When I say appalled, I mean you don't watch it with your daughters. I guess it is just selective memory.

Cool story, Ken.
Over the weekend, showed my 6 year old his first Star Trek movie. Went with IV, figuring it'd not be too violent/scary - KHAAAN! will have to come later. Also, I didn't want to subject him to the boredom of, say, I or V. I also hoped he'd find the whales interesting.
Fail. Overall, he found it boring - he's too used to the faster pacing of the PIXAR and Dreamworks animated films. Also, I remembered that the movie had a few "colorful metaphors", but I didn't remember how many.
He did laugh when the harpoon hit the Klingon ship. And, he's curious to see a Next Generation movie, since he has a Geordi La Forge action figure. Hmm. Both my kids loved ST IV when we all watched it last year. I can't get them to sit down for even one episode of TNG though. Not enough space action, I guess. They're both complete Star Wars addicts.

Those things that crawled into their brains scared the you-know-what outta me in "The Wrath of Khan."

TNG: JP, don't show your son the episode "Night Terrors."
It's actually pretty freaky.
