but today when i set up the system back up again.

the sub blew its fuse. i tried the replacement fuse
and it blew as well.

i have the exact same setup, i have had for the last 4 years frown

what could be causing this?
any thoughts...

Not off the top of my head, but give Axiom a call. They're really good about this sort of thing.

Now when you say "disconnected my system" do you mean actually disconnecting ALL the equipment physically from the electrical outlet or do you mean just turning the switch off the power strip/surge protector/UPS?

At what point does the fuse blow? It's just the fuse on the sub, correct?

Assuming you are replacing it with the correct spec fuse, most likely there is some sort of electrical fault with the amp.

If its feasible send the amp to Axiom so they can examine the corpse.

Kamla, since there was no storm damage(and the sub probably wasn't even moved)a specific answer doesn't immediately spring to mind. The fuse blows because too much current is going through it, but what caused this is some type of internal short. A connecting wire inside may be loose, or the voice coil of the driver may be damaged(check it by gently pushing the cone in to see if it moves smoothly without a grating sound). Or, the supply section of the sub amp may itself have developed a defect, which Axiom should be called about.
