I am interested in the 10 inch sub, however, I am concerned that the surround material appears to be made of foam. I have seen foam degrade and render a loudspeaker useless. Will this happen to the ep-175. I plan on keeping this speaker for a long time.

Some foam surrounds do deteriorate in 10-15 years. We have used many foam surrounds through the last 21 years and have seen a relatively small number that exhibit this problem.
