I'm setting up a new 7.1 system in a 18x13 finished basement. Electronics will be Outlaw 950 preamp, 750 amp (5x165)(and a 60WPC two channel amp I have on hand for the rears). Clarity, realism and excelent sound are important to me--ultra high listening levels are not.

I would think the M22's, VP150, QS-4 surrounds and two EP 175's would be quite nice.

1. In a room this size size does it pay to go any higher in the speaker pecking order, or will I just be buying ability to listen at levels I won't use?

2. Which would be a better combo M22's and 2-EP175's or one the M towers and one EP 350?

Actually either the combo you are looking at with the M22s or the M60s, VP150, QS8s, and an EP350 would work very well. You get more than just higher output capability as you go up in the model chain. All of our models are design for maximum neutrality but the higher models have improved off axis response and better soundstage presentation.
