Happy Birthday Mike!

Congratulations! you have made it to 2/3 the age of my younger brother whose birthday was yesterday!

.....with fewer years clicked off, I suspect that your birthday is more "Happy" than his!!

Actually, as one ages they become "Happier " yet! "Yes! I made another one, I'm still here!" Wah-hoo!

Seriously though, hope all your b-days are happy ones!!
Rich, Kat, and family.

Thanks everyone!!

Spent the day painting the never ending basement project!! Sure wish I would have bought a dark primer for the HT room paint though. UGG!! Three coats and the white is still poking through. Two gallons later and I need to buy more paint. I got the rest of the basement finished though, so that’s a bit of a relief. I start laying the tile today.

I’ve been dreading the big ol’ 4 – 0. I promised my family I’d slow down some when I turn 40 and I’m gunna have to give up something to appease them. I don’t feel older today, but I’m not all that happy about “being in my forties” though.

Note to self. Do not assume the 16 YO at the hardware store can mix paint; your “tan” may end up looking “pink”. Adding white makes the “pink” look even pinker. Do not roll paint over spiders, it leaves little spots under the “pink” paint………. everywhere.

Happy BDay Mike, hope the day is going great for you so far!

I can relate to the one about the candles.

I no longer accept a cake on my birthday.

In September; that many candles overly taxes the air conditioning here in Florida.

Happy birthday, Mike. Don't feel bad. There are many here who can only wish they were celebrating their big 4-0. What did you get? Some good stuff, I hope. I remember my sister-in-law sent me black roses on that memorable day.

Happy Birthday, Mike.

Thanks for the tips on the spiders.

I already knew the one about the employees assigned to various tasks at HD

We moved on my 40th. Nothing like "lift something heavy all freakin day" to make you feel older.

Wish we were closer so I could come help you with that tile project.

I'll toast you with something sublime later. Enjoy life's blessings.

I got my birthday present last week. My girlfriend (Sarah) bought me a new grill, and it’s a dandy!! Big ol’ stainless steel unit with a gazillion burners and gadgets that I’ll never figure out. We’ve been ‘seasoning’ it quite a bit too!

For the real day gift, Sarah cooked me one of her gourmet dinners. Roasted duck with a wonderfully tasty orange flavored sauce on a bed of couscous that she mixed up with fresh basil and other stuff that I don’t really know what it was (but it was supper good). Then a buddy of mine donated a couple bottles of wine for the dinner. A 99’ Marietta Angeli Cuvee (one of my all time favorites!) and a desert wine (01 Dolce’) that I dare not ask how much it cost. Then there’s the new dirt bike I picked up a couple months ago that the lil lady doesn’t know about yet (I was supposed to give that up last year, so SSSHHH).

I decided against a big party that all my friends wanted to throw me. I’ve got too much to do to be loosing a day all hung over with a dirty house to clean. So the party comes when the basement is finished, or so I’ve been informed anyway.

Thanks for the toast Tom. Ya, too bad you’re too far away to help. I’ve got to pack all those friggin boxes of tile downstairs!!

Well hi-ho-hi-ho, off to find the knee pads…….

Thanks again everyone. It’s a very kind and unexpected gesture.

F-O-R-T-Y???

Damn that's old!

Happy Birthday and congrats with the new outdoor grill my man. Whenever you need to change the propane tank on that beast try to get one of the young neighbors to give you a hand, those tanks can be quite a handful for an old guy like yourself.
