Well, the fates were looking out for me today. I happened to be home when DHL dropped off my finish samples. In a streak of extraordinary luck, my wife happened to be home as well. We wasted little time in comparing the samples to our current decor and picking a color. The final decision is the Cherry Nutmeg Satin with black accessories from the VaSSallo series. AWESOME!
Got that order in before the deadline. I'm a happy camper. Thanks to all that weighed in on all my questions that showed both my inexperience and indecision. I'm so excited, I couldn't wait to update my sig.
The easy part is over. Now I'm faced with waiting up to six weeks for them to stain and finish the speakers.
I see you went with the SVS SB12-Plus. I'm also considering that sub and will probably end up ordering it in the next day or so. What was the availability? It's received good reviews, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I seriously considered the Hsu VTF-2 MK 3 based on price as well as reviews, but I have very little room for a sub and the SB12 takes care of that problem.
Regards.
Congratulations, Ken!
Man, I envy you guys that have the option of real wood veneers...they just look awesome! I think I would have gone for that if it were offered when I bought mine....
Very good, Ken; that'll be a beautiful finish to go along with the beautiful sound.
Not a chance buck-o.
Got the same request from my brother last week.
Welcome to da family. Dere are a few tings you should know. <cracks knuckles> Foist, I'm Ken. You ain't Ken. Seco..
err....
OK, wait, that was totally the wrong foot. Definitely stick around after you get the speakers. It's always great to get someone else we can mooch off... err... I mean, get advice from.
HEY! BOYS! Take it outside! You know no one is allowed in the front room! It's just for show!
>>Back to Axiom, I think one of the main reasons I bought Axiom (I listened to Monitor Audio, Paradigm, Definitive) is the Axiom community expressed via this forum. It's so much like a family. Comradery, free exchange of ideas and opinions, and yes, even a little bit of bickering. Makes for a perfect family dynamic. It sets my mind at ease that I've made a good, solid, and long lasting choice on some high quality gear.
This is pretty much what happened with me as well. I didn't even audition other brands, I basically took a look at what speakers Audioholics.com had reviewed, came accross the Axioms, and the fact that they were Canadian was just that much better, I like to support Canadian companies.
I am blown away by my speakers, I love em!
