Me coaching one of my players' much younger brothers at our end-of-season team versus parents and siblings game.
He's like 25% helmet by volume... that softball helmet was the closest thing we could find to fit him.

Which part of the picture are you trying to say is cute?
Not the tall skinny dirtbag.
Bren R.
That is a cute pic! I bet that he was thrilled to be playing with the big boys.
The base is bigger than he is.
Are you licking your chops???
Looks like Bren has some Big League Chew going on.
"Hey, Billy, which one of those fine ladies over there is yer Mom? Heh heh. Does she like discriminating audiophiles? Oops, gotta run - just saw Chris Hanson over there buying some nachos. You're on your own, now, Billy - good luck!"
You mean this isn't a caption contest?
I thought the little guy was Lord Dark Helmet from Spaceballs.
I thought for sure it was Dark Helmet because his Schwartz is bigger than Bren's too.
How does he keep that helmet on when he's running the bases?
BOSE magnetic technology.
Yeah, he did well... got a hit with a bit of an odd "one hand at the knob, one halfway up the barrel grip"... hitter was given a "take" sign to allow him to steal second with no throw from the catcher... and he continued to third for the ultra-rare two base steal. And his slide into home was reminiscent of Willie Mays Hayes from Major League.
No, Peter, I'm not licking my chops, think I just got photographed in the middle of an L consonant sound.
The chinstrap kept the helmet in the general direction of his head... not sure he could see through the cage, but at his size, it acts as both head protection and a throat protector.
Bren R.
Not to dwell on it, but that can't be why your tongue is in the picture. The L sound is formed by placing the tip of the tongue against the back of the upper teeth. What are you trying to hide?
Upon reviewing the full-res version... that's just smokers-yellow teeth and JPEG compression that combined to make it look like that.
Bren R.
Hee hee. I wish I could still get that excited about something.
Oh, I can. The A1400-8.
My significant other just leapt out of bed with your son's scream of joy... I really should have turned the sound down first.
It's amazing that the first dance young children learn is the Pogo.
