Question for a friend I couldn't answer. Goggle found me a few but mostly I got links to amps and home power meters. No ideas if the ones I found are junk or not so I'll ask here.

He is looking for an external analogue watt meter for his new AVR (measure front channels only.) No practical reason except he likes them. Who am I to argue with that logic. I've used it for many a purchase.

I'm sure they never were really accurate (Yes I know they really measure voltage) but I will admit to agreeing that they look cool. In fact, I'm taking his old stereo amp for my garage.

You need a rat in those watt meters.

OK I reread my post but I don't get the rat reference. What am I missing?

I remember that rat. Is Emma still in a dilemma?

Use your (there's only one 'e' in) judgment.

Man, I'm lost.....
I retract my question for fear I'm hallucinating.

OK, the explanation:

There's an old saying that spelling teachers use: "There's 'a rat' in 'separate'."

The next few posts were just Peter and I riffing on commonly misspelled words.

Wow, two uses of the font size button in one day. This is one for the books!

You mean he wants to watch the needles dance on an analog VU Meter?

Hey! Quit hijacking our spelling thread!

Oh, wait ...

Ha Ha Ha! I didn't catch your meaning or my spelling error. Good One!

However, I did catch my own watts vs. volts vs. VU meter thing if you check my [reason for edit] caption at the bottom of my first post and yes, watching them dance is an excellent way to describe his need.
