Hey, man, I washed 'em the best I could.

Yeah, yeah, I hear you. I blame St_PatGuy.

Happy Birthday, Mary!

Happy Birthday Mary!
Please come back. If only to distract them from underwear sharing for a while.

Hey!!!

Jack mentioned to me on Facebook that there was a birthday thread for me over here, so I thought I would come by and thank you all. \:\) I turned the big 4-0. Ugh!

Anyway, as a gift to myself (well, not really meant as a gift, but a good time to buy), I FINALLY upgraded to an HDTV. It is the Samsung LN52B550. The day after the tv arrived, I upgraded to HD through Dishnetwork.

What's strange is how these tvs look SO great at the stores with their default bright settings and you want it to look EXACTLY like that when you get it home. Only when I turned it on at home, I was like...WOAH! It was blinding and oversaturated. So, I spend all weekend tweaking the set to my liking, and now I LOVE IT! \:\)

Before, if you may recall, I had an old 60" projection set which was VERY boxy and tall. The center channel was placed on top with it angled down. I thought it sounded pretty good. But, obviously now, the center channel has to sit below the tv. Wow...the sound changed for the better! It sounds a lot more even across the front. In fact, EVERYTHING sounds better! It seemed that moving that huge box out of the room allowed the sound to open up and breathe. So, not only has the tv been more pleasing to my eyes, my ears are enjoying it too.

The only thing disappointing so far is picture quality on one particular concert DVD. Some things look really pixelized and looked better on the standard definition tv. I've messed with all the DVD player settings and nothing has really helped. I blame it on the production of the actual DVD and nothing else. I guess some DVDs aren't meant for high resolution viewing.

So, now that I've got the new tv, I'm starting to get upgraditis again...wanting a new receiver and a Blu-ray player! I'm only "shop flirting" (a term my friend came up with, where you only look, but don't buy! ) for now, but I imagine within the next couple of years, I'm going to have to finally upgrade. It never seems to end, does it? Sheesh!

Anyway, thank you all again for the birthday wishes! I need to come back here more often. I've forgotten how entertaining AND warm and inviting this forum is!

I get it! It's like going to the strip club but no table dances. \:D

Well. . . I blame it on the cabbage and dried prunes.

Great to hear from you Mary, and yes, that is an excellent TV that you got(obviously I stand ready to recommend some classical ballet DVDs to help show it off). Let us know about any questions that you might have about scratching that upgrade itch.

It's all right. I just sent them to Marina. If she can't respond about Medusa, perhaps she can respond about this.

Next up, you should design Medusa underwear.

Something might get lost in the sea of snakes, making it very hard to go to the bathroom.

By the way, my apologies to Mary for the derail.

A derailed thread!

Well, I NEVER!

*walks off in a huff*
