Relaxing at the family cabin in the woods! We just had a new screened in porch built and it's very nice to sit outside without worrying about bugs. As I sit here, I can't help but think how nice some Algonquins
would be in each corner of the porch!

Nice! I feel more relaxed just seing the words cabin and woods in the same sentance.

Yeah, it's pretty remote and has a nice creek running right in front. it sits on about 60 acres but there is much more land surrounding it that other people own.

It puts me in the mood to watch Evil Dead II again.

... and then leave the lights on all night "just in case". No thanks ;\)

EDIT - I guess there's no law against having a chainsaw on the night table...

I've gathered that Ken and CatBrat are afficionados of internet comics.

I didn't take the time to click on the link until you mentioned me. Good comic. I'm not normally a big fan of internet comics.

I did watch some of the episodes from Hoarders on the internet yesterday because my sister has been in the hospital for the past 2 weeks with 2 more weeks to go in a nursing home and she is a hoarder. I've been cleaning her apartment because you could barely just turn around in it.

I had heard about that show but haven't seen any episodes. I was wondering how it was - if it was a serious, compassionate look at a tough illness or if it was sensationalism at the expense of the mentally ill. How was it?

I watched snippet of a couple of shows. I would say it has elements of both. I may be showing my age - but I care nothing for any of the reality shows - any. My kids like to watch - but I generally leave the room or otherwise occupy myself.

I only watched the first episode. It was about an elderly woman, her husband and about 6 daughters, and a house that held about 22 tons of junk. The denial in the elderly woman that had the hoarding problem was very evident. She would not take any responsibility and blamed her hoarding problem on everyone else, including possible intruders that scattered her stuff, looking for treasure. There was a lot of emotionality and finger pointing between her and her daughters. But the mother was the one who would get angry and violent when someone tried to clean the house. The husband had adbandoned the wife about 13 months prior, but had showed up for the camera and clean-up crew. She wanted him to stay, but he apparently already had enough.

So, it showed the mentally ill problem in this stage of their lives. There was sensationalism also, in viewing their problems, the mess and the clean-up efforts.

Edit: One word about her husband. He was the kind of wishy-washy person that had no back-bone.

Speaking of beautiful cottages. Here's some pictures of a $2.1 million dollar cottage in Bancroft that I rented for my best friends bachelor party (I meant to post them a while ago). It has it's own lake, and is secluded to say the least.

Here's the website (it's for sale if you have the cash ) along with some pictures we took - Slideshow (hope it works) .

I have 50 tabs worth of them, which I read daily.

The stripper in slide 4 of 13 seems pretty flat-chested.

Has a funny hair dress on too...

HEHE. That was solid wood, weighed a ton and was probably worth a bit of coin, Later on in the evening the guys took turns sitting atop of it; it was solid as a tree.

I just put up that same hummingbird feeder outside our kitchen window the other day!

Awesome place!
Nice shot of the Hummingbird too.
Here is one where I got in nice and close as he couldn't see me through the window. Unfortunately, the window dulled the shot a bit as well. Cool to actually see the ruffles in his feathers though. First time I ever was able to get that close.

nice photo!

To get my picture I just stood next to the hummingbird feeder for a mintue or two with my iphone camera until one was brave enough to sit in front of me and start munchin' down.
