The current Britpopmags are touting reunions this year by the likes of Buffalo Springfield, Soundgarden, Republica, Suede..

Made me think about the follow ups that never were, but that I would run in front of a train to get.
A follow up rendered DOA by and actual "D" doesn't count.

A 4th Buff Spring
A 7th 10cc
A follow up to And God Shuffled..Crash Test D's
Another Supertramp
A 2nd Moby Grape
Another Van Halen w/ Sammy
More Garbage...now!
A final Kinks before Dave died. They had decades to do it.
And no one will remember Emmett Rhodes

Go ahead. Bring on the lacrimination by reminding me of so many others. Kleenex ready.

I second the motion to have more Garbage. And Crash Test Dummies.

I miss the Go-Gos. I always think, "What if ..." as far as their career. They had such a good sound, and then they fell apart.

Other bands that sadly quit for various reasons, with lots of miles still left in the tank:

Blondie - Chris Stein's lupus, right? I know that they did "No Exit" a few years ago.
The Cars - I hear they are working on a new album
The Police - we did get a few good Sting albums out of that, at least, but I heard the recent reunion tour was boring

3 years ago The Cars tried to do it with Todd Rundgren. Elliot Easton fell off the stage in their first month on the road and that was it's end.

Ben Orr is dead, so....

Belinda Carlisle isn't much on her own, but there was magic when all together.

They were never one of my top bands, but I had a few of their CDs. Whatever happened to Collective Soul?

Reminds me of Weird Al's video for his parody of Runaway Train, where there were pictures of missing bands on light poles and milk cartons instead of missing kids.

Oooh, more Soundgarden. I'd prefer more Audioslave, but hey, we can't have everything.

You're serious???? Coll Soul have done nothing but get better and more consistent. They only went away for a brief period after their lablel dumped them 6 years (or so) ago. They spent their own $$ to release the next one (2007/8?) and it did really well.

Latest one is about a year old. They have more electric guitar vocabulary in their jeans pockets than 99% of bands. Brilliant in the studio.

Journeymen, for certain.

Anyone wanna bet AGAINST Cam citing RATM first?

I agree Bob!

They toured up here just last year. I saw them in a relatively small venue and was once again blown away by the collective musicianship. No pun intended. No album has disappointed me yet, either. It always has something for everybody due to their diversity.

Murph, how many posts do you have to catch up on this time?

Good to see ya around again.

The bass intro to Candy-O is one of my favorites. As is Magic Man by Heart.

I really loved the Cars.

I am going to twist Bob's post a little...

The thing I really did not need were those awful Beatles songs. Free as a bird or whatever that was.

You guys really HAVE become special friends, haven't you? grin

HTH could I have forgotten Rockpile. One could never have been enough. Love Edmunds and Lowe alone, but Rockpile, that was special.

Lampy, I think you're confusing the Beatles with Skynyrd.

Loved Layne, but it was really Cantrell in charge. Their (his)2010 release demonstrated that quite clearly. It's all AiC, IMHHO.
