A baby! Starting October 1 I can say goodbye to cranking up my axioms for a while. Maybe it's time to invest in some audiobytes for the office?
Congrats! Is this your first?
Yessir.
He/She/They will be the best thing that ever happened to you.
Congrats.
David, that's fantastic! Congratulations!!
Awesome David - congrats! Maybe I can take your Axioms off of your hands during the coming quiet period?
Congrats!! Once he/she arrives, you will finally "get" what all your friends with kids are always blabering on about. Try to enjoy EVERY SINGLE minute - even the bad ones. They grow WAY too fast, and you miss "simple" times when they were little - terribly.
Oh, and CRANK those Axioms. I did from day one, and all 3 of my kids will sleep through anything. It is fantastic that I can watch a movie, or listen to music without a second thought. You can thank me later.
Damn I thought maybe you ordered some LFR's when I saw the title.
Congratulations, David!! That is awesome news!!
Felicitations to your wife and you, David!
Congratulations to you and your wife, David!

Congratulations. Kids are a grand adventure!

Good advice.
Congrats David, very exciting news!!
My kids were the opposite of Shawn's, if I had anything loud enough for them to hear they wouldn't sleep; so I will say you will have wait and see which way your kids will go.
My kids were the opposite from most, take them to the mall for some shopping and where many kids have a nap in the stroller, mine were wide awake the whole time, even a car ride was only good for a 30 min nap, so much so you could set a 30 min timer by them.
Congratulations! Kids teach you more about yourself than you ever wanted to know and are a gamble that usually pays off. Emotionally, not financially.
Hey Jason, my kids didn't sleep much in the stroller or car either. Or at least, not when we wanted them to. But otherwise, their sleep habits are pretty different. The oldest used to wake if you dropped a feather, and until we got sick of it and just let him cry it out, he wouldn't sleep at all unless he was rocked and held. The second wouldn't sleep unless we left her alone, and the third requires a bottle to sleep. Let us say that the second is the easiest child to deal with, sleep-habit wise.
So yeah, David, all kids are different, and you're going to get a LOT of advice over the next, well, 20 years. Try to take it all with a grain of salt. Including this advice.
Congrats again.
Thanks everyone! Funny stuff Mark. Probably find out boy or girl at next apt.
Another congrats, David!!

Or not, we never could find out with my oldest, he was always positioned just at the wrong angle with a leg in the way
Yeah, you make a good point. A colleague I mine at work had the same experience until close to the due date.
Congrats!
My twin girls are 3 1/2 now. I don't play music too loud in front of them but it's amusing to watch them dance around while it's playing.
Congratulations. Kids are a grand adventure!

+1
Some of the best advice we got early on was to do what you normally would do - even if they are sleeping. As a result we were actually able to vacuum under the crib and not wake any of our kids!
Congrats! Enjoy the ride. Don't worry too much. Worry just the right amount.
Congrats!
Make it up as you go along. Your best will be more than good enough.
Another congrats! Expose him/her to good music right away. Otherwise, you may end up having to listen to future Justin Beibers. Ewwwwwww!
Mary has a good point. I probably acquired a taste for classical music before I was born.
We found out today we are having a boy! Everything is going smoothly so far.
Now you know what color you can paint the nursery.
Orange.
Nah, it should be Negative Orange

I used to be a boy! Very cool.

That's funny, good one Jason!
Congrats on having a boy, David!
Why are there only 2 choices? Oh well, never mind.
Thanks. Our excitement is picking up! My wife will be 18 weeks on Sunday.
We are doing a few things to enjoy our "free time" in the near future. We are heading to dallas for Dave Matthews concert with our parents on may 18. On may 31 we are going to playa del carmen Mexico for a week for one last vacation before the baby comes. Since mt wife obviously csnt drink, i plan on Taking advantage of the 2 for 1 tequila specials
And, based upon the spelling, have you started already?
Good stuff David!
If I had it to do all over again, I think I would have skipped the kids (had 2 daughters) and gone right to grandchildren (have).3 girls, 1 boy between 2-4 yrs).
There are clearly some logistics issues to work through that way, but you can play with and spoil them and when they smell bad or you've had enough for one day, you can just send them home.
Enjoy the time with him, it seems to go very quickly.

No kidding, it seems like yesterday my soon to be 13 yr old son (next week!) was just born and fit in my forearm, he is now 5' 9".
Ray, skipping kids and going straight to grand children is a great trick, if you ever get it perfected you would be a very rich man.

I vote on that 100%.
They can sleep through train wrecks.
My dad built a plane in our basement when i was a kid so i'm used to sleeping through power saws.
Well our due date has come and gone. We are scheduled to evict the little man out of his current home Monday morning... Yikes! It seems like it has only been a couple of months...
There's nothing wrong with a little extra browning of the muffin in the oven.
Good luck with that eviction notice.

Awwwwww...keep us updated.
I have one of those, all 90lbs. of him(and my second), my first lived to be 3 months short of 17yrs. This guy just turned eleven and he remains goofy. For the second time in a few years he found a skunk in the yard the other night and got sprayed right in the kisser. Lots of cleaning up to do, unlike the last time though, luckily, little if any smell got in to the house.
You _might_ be responding in the wrong thread. At least I hope so!

Oh my goodness, I hope so!
Some people's pets ARE their kids...
Well things got delayed a bit. We are giving him a week to come on his own and will be scheduled to induce next week if nothing happens. At home now about to watch a movie and enjoy my axioms. Let's see if my ep500 can shake the little guy out of there!
That's right, David; you can get him used to good music(and good equipment)right now!
don't be in such a rush (thou I'm sure your wife is)
Baby Caleb was born on 10-21-13 at 8 lbs 8 oz!
Big time congratulations, David. Let the 18-year gauntlet begin. Now with a Master's degree AND a newborn, you can slow down for a while. Ha!
Congrats! Hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy the ride.
Warmest congratulations to you and your family, David.
I'm always glad when nice, smart people have children so that we continue to have nice, smart people in the world.
Congratulations here, too, to both of you!
Cute kid considering he's new to this modeling stuff and, well, everything else!
Congrats to you and your wife, David!!
Congratulations, David!!! That is awesome news!
So he took his time to make his appearance, but there he is! Congratulations to you and your wife, David.
Congrats to you and your wife, David!!
What? David's wife is named David? That can't be right.
Congrats David. He looks quite alert in that picture.
Happy Birthday and Congratulations!!!!!
I was expecting too. But all I got was a movie.
Congrats, David!!

Is this why I wouldn't make a good Dad?
Yay!!! Congratulations!!!
Congratulations David!! All my best to the entire family.
Strange how Murph and Mary disappear at the same time and then reappear again at the same time....
Are they dating or are they same person?
Sorry I'm late. Woo hoo!!
