First, hi everyone! I have some difficulties to write english so i hope you shall be comprehensive Now, my question is What do you think about quad 22l vs m60ti ? i love the sound of quad but it's a bit to expensive for me and i've never hear Axiom m60ti. Can i compare this speaker?

i forgot to say that its only for stereo listening. Not for home theater. I listen all kind of music but mainly progressive rock and blues.

I've never heard the quad22, but it looks like a great speaker with a fantastic finish, the m60's are one of the best speakers I have ever heard.
Just looking at the specs(which don't always mean everything) I would go with the 60's, especially if cost is a concern I don't think you could go wrong.

I have had the M60ti's in the not too distant past and currently own the Quad 22L's. After auditioning Monitor Silver RS6's (I thought these were the worst of the bunch), Wharfedale Opus 30's (very nice speaker), B & W 703 (over-priced), Paradigm Ref 60's and having heard the Rocket 750's and 850's I decided on the Quads. They were the best overall speaker I auditioned. Wonderful tight bass, great mid-range dynamics and a smooth, unoffensive top-end. Add to that the wonderful Bird's Eye Maple finish and they are very hard to beat. They are more than the M60ti's, but I believe they are well worth it. They are very different sounding speakers, so audition both sets of speakers and let your ears decide.

Doubting Thomas posted some excellent thoughts about the Quads and the M60s. Here are a few further thoughts.

The Quads are electrostatic planar radiators--they use a thin, flat membrane as a diaphragm. Typically, electrostatic panels have limited lateral dispersion, so you have to anchor yourself in the sweet spot to get proper imaging. They do not have impressive bass extension or dynamics in the deep bass and those who want really high playback levels might find electrostatic designs very limiting. If you overdrive electronstatic panels, the consequences are catastrophic--if the membrane touches the polarized grid, it may burn holes in the diaphragm.

Through the midrange the Quads are very neutral and that is certainly the goal of the best dynamic speakers as well. I believe the M60s are very neutral, transparent dynamic speakers. The virtue of dynamic designs like the M60s is that because of its very good horizontal dispersion off-axis, it has an "open" spatial quality that is hard to duplicate in an electrostatic speaker.

On the other hand most electrostatics are dipoles (they radiate to the front and the rear with the latter out of phase) so they may generate a kind of ambient backwave that may enhance the spatial presentation of the speaker. The backwave from a dipole may also be troublesome in terms of room setup.

Alan, the Quad 22L's are 2.5 way floorstanding speakers. Their Mid and Bass drivers are made of Kevlar and they use a Silk dome tweeter. The speakers have real wood veneers and are finished with 7 coats of laquer.

So Quad is now manufacturing conventional dynamic speakers. Oddly one of the 2006 equipment directories I use lists only the full-range Quad EL989 and 988 electrostatic designs but a previous directory (2005) does list the 22L's.

My comments apply only to Quad electrostatic models. I've not heard any of the dynamic speaker models, including the 22L, although the frequency response specifications that you cite are unqualified by dB limits, which makes such claims useless.
