I don't know if this has been asked in a previous thread but would it be possible to:
a) Get a pre / pro which would handle all my audio / video processing
b) Audio output to my A-1400 and my Yamaha AVR from the pre / pro which would feed the signals to my speakers
c) Video direct from the pre / pro to the TV
The reason I ask is I only have component outputs on my Yamaha AVR and I'll probably need HDMI for my new TV.
Can I just use the Yammi as just an amp?
Thanks for any input.

The Count gets excited anytime a number is mentioned.

Well... may as well...
But, as a matter of fact, fish organ IS one of the instruments most improved by the A1400. Especially the part where you have to cook them by inducing high-voltage.

AV Threesomes do work, but you've got to be really careful to make sure that it's a casual thing. Make sure the amp doesn't get too attached to the DVD player. It can happen, and many-a-happy AV systems have been ruined by jealous components.

Not to mention the rules of which components can go where...These rules can never be broken, hell to pay I say!

Yeah, I'd advise against an AV threesome with your home components. An AV threesome is something to do when you are not attached to your components in a committed relationship, or else the psychological fall-out will be damaging.

Usually the threesome is a phenomenon of the young unattached audiophile who is sowing his wild oats. The rest of us lucky stiffs get to listen to the same high-fidelity components for the rest of our lives ...
