Just beautiful! I'm very envious. How many coats of paint did it take for that lovely red color?

We've got a bathroom that color. We used a tinted primer and FIVE count 'em, FIVE coats of paint to get the color even. A year or so later I saw a display at Home Depot that showed this color on top of various primer colors. They had white primer, the same tinted primer that we had, which was pepto bismol pink - the most tint they could add and still have the primer do it's thing - then they had a grey primer from Glidden. The grey cut the number of color coats down to 3! The others had 5 each and there was alot of bleed still visible on the other two primer colors.
Now in my small half bath, we didn't consume a whole lot of paint, but if this guy had to do that many coats in that room, he went thru a lot of paint.

We had to use three or four coats in our dining room for a similar color, sans primer.

Actually it only took two coats over white primer, and on new freshly finished drywall too. We used Benjamin Moore paints new Aura line. It was expensive, I think 60 or $70 a gallon, but they gaurantee it will cover in two coats. My wife and I were amazed. We did a similar color in our dining room several years ago and it took 5 or six coats. Although this Aura paint is expensive, it actually works out to be the same cost as having to buy many gallons of paint and is a heck of a lot less work!

Wow that is an elegant and attractive color, I bet it enhances the picture when the lights are off! I love the concept of a projector and screen, how big is your screen? Does it work well during the day? We were thinking of getting a projector as well. And finally what type of stereo receiver are you driving your speakers with?

Thank you, we really love the color. It was a happy medium with the wife. I would have probably gone even darker than that, but it really does look great.

Our screen is 100" and the speakers are driven by Outlaw Audio seperates (990 pre/pro and 7500 5-channel amp). With 200 watts per channel, it has plenty of power to run the Axioms. It really sounds great.
