From talking to the Axiom folks, they seem to be very happy with the Internet model even if it means they are going to lose some sales to the mfgs with dealer channels.

There is no way around it -- good dealers are expensive (in terms of margins), and inexpensive dealers are... well, you get what you pay for with dealers just like everything else

There might be some kind of middle ground, eg. demo centers in major cities, but I get the feeling Axiom would rather stay with the internet and keep the prices lower. It's going to be interesting to see what happens -- Paradigm et al are trying hard to keep the traditional dealer model working and are staying away from the big box stores, so arguably they are losing sales as well. It's a tough call.
