The stands come with small rubber feet for the speaker to sit on. You can also drill into the bottom of the speakers without damaging them and fasten the speakers directly to the top of stand for that heavy traffic area. Further on the comment about the solid post in this thread, the CSS2 stands have solid posts except for the wire management hole. The SS16 stand has a hollow post but it can be easily filled if you so desire. You can drill into the back of your QS4s without voiding your warranty. Please use a guide on the drill so as to not penetrate more than 3/4".
