I have the same speakers as you do, a Yamaha receiver RX V 2600.
Here are some of the settings that I found on the receiver;
Speaker Levels.
Sub -3.5
Front L +4
Front R +3.5
Center +.5
SL +2
SR +4
PL +2
PR +3
Speaker size;
Surronds - small
Center - small
Front - large
Base crossover is at 160HZ.
On the sub itself here are the settings;
Vol. where max is at 2 o'clock and min. is at 4 o'clock. I have this set at 8 o'clock (260 degrees).
Phase = 0
Crossover is at BYPASS
Trim is at FLAT.
As I said before at times I would here a poping sound (perhaps the vol. is set to high)?
What should the settings be set at?
