Ohh-Kay!! I think Mark's got me figured out and headed in the right direction. My current configuration does NOT work, and I did not understand that I could apply policies based on the MAC address. I apparently was barking up the wrong tree entirely. Concrete-sequential thinking.
I'm still going to need to figure out the steps involved, but I understand the premise much better now. I do run DHCP on the router, and it is too new to accept the unix hacks available on the earlier versions.
