I am currently connected at 4.8 Kbps. The phone line gets real noisy when it rains and the noise forces the modem to a lower data rate, typically between 4.8 and 9.6 Kbps. The phone company will only send service people out when it is warm and dry.

Forget this "streaming audio" -- I either need a "trickling audio" station or something that streams Morse Code
