I used to have a Panasonic XR55 and replaced it with a Pioneer VSX-817. The Panny was a great unit but it had limited control over frequency response. It only has treble and bass. The Pioneer on the other hand has MCACC which in my opinion works great. Plus, if you want to you can make manual adjustments using the built in EQ. Plus the Pioneer has a little more power and cost nearly the same.

Personally, I would go with M60's for the fronts.
