On the other hand, as an HG Cherry owner, I can tell you it's worth the 12% (though I did get it when it was on promotion). ;\)

The reason not to get the high gloss finishes is that they can cast some reflections of light in your room, so if you find that distracting, a matte finish may be more for you. Personally, the reflection doesn't bother me, but it's not for everybody.
