well if you're willing to go about $20 over your 1k budget + taxes then the M60's through the factory outlet would be a nice choice if you don't mind waiting a month to get them. and the Axioms happen to be available in black with black grills too!
I've had mine (in Boston cherry mind you)for about 2 years now and I'm still amazed on a weekly basis when i re hear some recordings i "thought" I'd heard before.
