Nope. The M22s are ported in the back, and have 2 mid/woofers and 1 tweeter, while the VP150 is not ported, and has 3 mid/woofers and 2 tweeters. And is longer. (or taller, depending on your perspective!)

I've got a similar deal with bookshelves that I will be putting M22s on. I wouldn't be too worried with them being close to the wall. Just edge them out to the front of the shelves when she's not looking...
