How large is your room, how far away do you sit from the speakers? What are your listening habits (Do you like to listen at loud volumes?). What other speakers will the pioneer be driving?
I don't think pioneer is typically one of the recommended brands by axiom but I wouldn't automatically assume that it won't work. Worst case you could try it out and send back the m80's within the 30 day window (for return shipping fees) if you have problems. The m80's are amazing speakers and I would get them if you can. I'm willing to bet you will have zero problems.
