contrary to popular opinion, good amps don't have anything to do with depth in reproduction.
once i was at a friend's house and she had a 300$ system-in-a-box.
i rearranged the speaker positions and turned up the volume to something realistic and, Bingo!
she said she had never heard sound so good before.
what made the difference is that the system now had depth.
