Jus installed everything on Tuesday, including my M60s. I don't find them to be bright at all. Clear yes, bright no. I'd have to put it down to room reflections.

Try cutting down on reflective surfaces between you and the speakers or adding more damping. I had previously moved a bookcase forward since I had a couch on the other side of the room and this helped.
