Hi kipi and freesey,

Out of curiosity, I delved into the Sound&Vision (Canada) Audio/Video Preview 1996 Directory issue, the last one I worked on as editor-in-chief before I left Canada for the US.

Looked under "Axiom" in Loudspeakers, and there it was:
The AX 1.2 Center Channel, $149 each Canadian, acoustic suspension, with 3 drivers--two 5 1/4-inch woofer/midranges and a 3/4-inch dome tweeter. Claimed frequency response was 90 Hz - 22 kHz, with sensitivity at 92 dB/1watt/1metre, power handling from 15 to 100 watts, weight 8 lbs., and it was specified as an 8-ohm speaker.

According to the Directory, there was also a bass-reflex AX 1.2 bookshelf 2-way system ($199). I found it in my archives as far back as the 1991 Audio/Video Preview. I'll check my archives, but I believe we reviewed the 1.2 when it was introduced. More research on the way. . .
