Re fhw, don't worry about "losing" the lower woofer's output from the QS4. The frequencies radiated from both woofers tend to spread around and reflect from room surfaces before they reach your ears. The QS4's dispersion pattern is almost omnidirectional in nature, which is why it's fairly forgiving of imperfect placement.

I suspect the stands would work fine, although I haven't tried that arrangement myself.
