There’s probably a few dozen more in my collection that are pretty good recordings not on this list, and this list certainly doesn’t encompass my favorite groups or albums. These are the ones that just seam to sound good to my ears……IE: no white noise, crappy mix or too much of one tone. For example, ACDC and Breaking Benjamin are probably my favorite rock groups, but they just don’t sound all that great on my system.

Ten Years After – A Space in Time (outstanding recording considering it was mixed in the 70’s)
Steve Miller Band – Number 5
Joe Wash – But Seriously Folks
Audioslave – (the base will rattle windows!)
38 Special – Drivetrain (their latest, not their best, but a good recording anyway)
Sarah Mclachlan – (shhhh, don’t tell anyone I listen to her)
Kenny Wayne Shepard – The Place You’re In (his best yet, IMHO)
Alison Krauss and Union Station – (I know this isn’t rock, but they sounds so dam good, I had to list them)
Mark Knopfler – Golden Heart
Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Hey! It’s Christmas, and they all sound incredible)
Evanescence – Fallen
Collective Soul – all of them
Hoobastank – The Reason
Arosmith – Toys in the Attic (remastered)
Staind – all of them
The Darkness – A Permission to Land (I’m not a fan of this group by any means, but for some reason, this particular CD just makes me want to party! Plus, it is a really good recording)
