Nah, the worst that will happen is that your critical listening and decision-making techniques will get dissected in public. Don't worry about the late-nite phone calls or the cars parked in front of your house, those will just be co-incidence
Wharfedale seems to be putting out some nice speakers recently. I haven't had a chance to hear them myself but the comments are certainly positive. I'm surprised you're getting better imaging than from the Axioms though...
The only way to be sure with minibar fridge etc... is to pull the speakers way out in the room (a few feet from any of the walls) and listen to them again. I realize you won't be able to leave them there but at least you'll know what the impact from placement is.
EDIT -- just curious, where did you find a dealer who carried Axiom, NHT and Wharfedale ?
