I never listened to M22s but I like my M60s a lot. Do you have a sub?

I moved from M22s to M60s, and though I wouldn't characterize that as a "step up," I WILL say that I found I preferred the M60s + sub, to the M22s + sub. Though It would be impossible for me to predict, you might feel the same. You have a pretty good sized room and might find the M60s do a little better job filling it. If you are not using a sub with the M22s, you WILL notice a big difference in the bass response of the M60s.

I made the upgrade from M22's to M60's due to my room size even though I was running a sufficient sub with the 22's. I was delighted when I got the 60's. It took no time for me to say, "YES! This is what I was looking for", when I plugged the 60's in for the first time.
With your size room you would stand to benefit from the increased low-end performance of tower speakers over bookshelf.

I had a similar question, but starting with M3s.
I went up to M50s and couldn't be happier with the improvement in presence and just plain "biggerness" of sound
Yeah......it's worth the upgrade.

The M22s are good, and the M50s are good.. add them together and buy M80s.
As wid said, you've got a big room, and the Rotels will take the load no problem.

When I was considering purchasing Axioms I had the same problem. After speaking with Brent (I think) he stated that bookshelves are no comparison to floor standers....or something along those lines.
So go for the M60s!
