guy's i need some advice. I have a chance to purchase a new Mirage OMNI S12 sub for 400$ us, which is half price. only problem is iv'e never heard one. here is a link to a review of the sub:
http://www.hometheatersound.com/equipment/mirage_omni_s12.htm
they compare it to the HSU mk3 and the reviewer seems to think it holds it's own against a larger sub. at half price this seems like a deal and it is a nice upgrade over my paradigm pdr12. what do you think?

Mirage is another great Canadian speaker company.
There subs are not bad but they are not an HSU or an SVS.

Yeah but for $399 vs the $800 list price i just bought one. the HSU would cost me $699 plus shipping. the miage sub performs as well as the HSU, w/the edge going to the HSU based on the review, and it's half the price. i've been breaking in the mirage sub for a while as this is what the owners manual recomends so i haven't pushed the sub to hard yet. If this deal wasn't available my plan was to buy an MK3 eventually. i'll post a review after i listen to the sub somemore.

i just saw this over at the mirage message boards, thought you guy's might be interested:
Martin, I have been seeing Mirage products advertised for sale on Tweeter.com (Omni-12 sub, $399) and American Theater systems inc. (OM-5, $2198)Are these Mirage approved dealers? Are these referbished/repaired products or new? Should I avoid these places?
Hello Jim,
Tweeter.com is an authorized dealer; however, the $399 deal only lasted a few hours, as I think it was a mistake...hope that you were able to get one...
PLEASE NOTE THAT AMERICAN THEATER SYSTEMS INC is not an authorized dealer! All products purchased from AMERICAN THEATER SYSTEMS INC are none licensed products and have no warranty.
Cheers,
Martin - Mirage Speakers
