So... a few months ago I picked up one of the last pair of M40s. I got around to putting the rubber feet on one of them but the other speaker was still sitting on a couple of magazines.
In the interests of making the place look good I figured I should pick up the magazines and put the feet onto the M40. Grabbed the accessory pack, started pulling out the feet... and dropped one of the newfangled spikes onto my own foot.
Dang, that hurt. Didn't quite land point down, sort of point-down-ish, but it still did some damage. No there will not be pictures.

Hope your doing ok, maybe take a few Advils
On a similar installation note, when I was mounting my 4 qs8's awhile back while standing on a 8ft ladder, I raised up not once, not twice, but three times a charm, and wacked my head on the ceiling. After the 3rd time I realized I should take one step down so I was not so close to the ceiling
To top that off my wife just stood there and laughed and said "Why don't you get a professional to install your HT"...by that time my blood was really boiling...

Yeah....those spikes ARE SHARP!!!.....but very handy
I received a set when I got my M50s, but don't have the ability to use either the spikes or the rubber feet on my Axioms' due to space considerations.
However...when I re-drivered my sub, the darn thing wouldn't sit still on the carpet without walking into the wall.
So, I used a set of the spikes on the sub.....securely anchored to the floor now!!!!Thanks; Axiom!
And in rememberance of you, John, I will be sure not to set the sub(which is REALLY heavy, now)down on my(always bare, around the house)feet when, and if, I ever have to move it!!
Hope you feel better by now
Rich.
