I just put together my system - M60s up front, M3s in the rear and a VP100 center. I think I've officially caught the tinkering bug :-) I just can't stop messing with things!
I like the VP100, but I have to admit, I'm a bit curious how the VP150 compares. The room is fairly small so I don't need alot, but I do find myself wanting to turn up the center channel to get a little more presence, but that will throw the balance off. I just recently read Alan's advice on center channel placement and made some adjustments which improved things.
Has anyone compared the two side by side?

do you still have 30 days left to return speakers?
if so and you have the money, get the 150.
if not, don't ever think about it again and stay away from anything that will make you want to upgrade!!!!

Yep, still within the 30 days. Just trying to learn a bit more about the differences between the two to see if it's even worth considering. The M50s and M60s have different characteristics, as do the M22s and M3s, so I'm curious if a similar situation may exist between these two.

tobz67,
I have actually never listened to the VP100, so I can't comment on a comparison with the VP-150, but I do own the VP-150, and it is an excellent center channel. Dialogue is crystal clear, and there is nice dispersion of sound.
Maybe others can provide more detail, but I think the easy answer is this--the VP-150 is a better speaker than the VP-100. Whereas you can't necessarily say that in regards to M3's vs. M22's, since they have different tonal characteristics that might appeal to different people differently, and one is not clearly better than the other, I think there is really no reason to go with the VP-100 if you can afford the VP-150.

Great point gem41573. I originally bought the M50s to save a couple bucks and then upgraded to the M60s. Similar thinking went into the VP100 and I'm leaning toward upgrading it and then I'll be happy knowing there's not a better option out there :-)
