I will be moving hopefully next month to Texas from California. I wanted to hear some recommendations on moving companies. Also would like to know which ones to stay away from. I would like to see my Axiom's get there in one piece.
Thanks guys

I just moved twice as far -- from California to Virginia -- and was very satisfied with United Van Lines. My company paid for the move, so I can't tell you how much they charged, but everything was packed very well and arrived in one piece and completely undamaged. The packing, loading, and unloading crews (all different people) were very professional and did good work. The truck driver was a nice guy, too.
I was very happy to tip generously.

Ignore me, just played a double header as my 2nd and 3rd times ever in net.

Peter, you can afford to tip generously?
Gee, that new job must really be paying off.

Unless you take relative costs of living into account, my salary is no different than it was in California. During the half-month that I was in transition between there and here, however, I had very few out-of-pocket expenses, so it felt like I was saving money. I was also in a generous mood. You're the one with the fancy-pants basement, mister.

I may have a fancy basement, but i don't have the spare cash for fancy pants anymore.
So lets see, same salary, new area, less expensive?
Why the job switch?

Increasing my skills and knowledge, with the added benefit of becoming a homeowner, beat out complacency. That simple, really.

Just curious to see how you are making out on the housing move, I know what the prices have done in Kern County in the past couple years, especially your area. Hope its a profitable move.

I like the quote Peter, mind if i modify it?
