Just got new M60's a couple weeks ago. They replaced Energy Pro 22's which, although 23 years old, most people still said "WOW" when they heard them for the first time.
I'm using a Denon 2805 for a receiver, Paradigm CC-370 centre, Paradigm Titans for rears and an older PSB stereo sub powered by a separate amp set-up for now. Pioneer DVD.
Must admit, it's taking some getting used to the different sound of the Axioms (the treble is way more pronounced to me) but I'm really starting to like them. I had to uncrate all my old CD's to listen to "Pure Direct" mode on the Denon (my favourite so for for 2 channel) after rediscovering how good this sounds.
Everyone is out of the house tonight so things are cranked up. You don't realize how loud the Axioms are, because they sound so clear (audiophile term), until you leave the room and then come back. Yikes!
I would like to talk to someone with a 2805 to see if I have everything set up right. I find myself going back into the menu and changing all the speakers levels everytime I play something different (movies, CD'S, concert DVD'S). Not sure if this is normal.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase. Have you tried using the mic. and Auto Setup, that seems to be one of the better ways to initially setup your system. Then its just a matter of volume control.

Welcome to the forum and yes M60s rock!! Once you set distances, speaker size and levels, cross over, etc. you shouldn't have to reset. Tweeking may need to be done with volume based on input. I sometimes adjust my sub depending on what I'm watching or playing.

I agree with everyone else that once you set distances, speaker levels, etc., you shouldn't necessarily have to tweak any further. However, I still find myself changing things on occasion. I don't follow the rules!
For example, I've got a Denon 3802. Technically, my listening position is 9 ft. away from the mains. Well, it turns out that I wasn't satisfied with the receiver set this way because the soundfield sounded flat to me. After some experimenting, I was happy at 11 ft. Anything more, the sound became too loose and the soundstage fell apart. I also set the surrounds 2 ft. further as well so the delay wouldn't be off.
Then for the levels, you can use an SPL meter. Some people swear by these things. However, I'm not sure if they can account for room reflections. So, I used it as a general guide to set the levels, but used my own ears to tweak them to my personal tastes, which was to slightly increase the decibels of my surrounds. However, sometimes I still go in and change the levels on occasion, depending on what I'm listening to.
Anyway, I doubt I helped in anyway...but, I just felt like babbling!

Babbling is good for the heart, mind and soul. That's why we all do it so much!!! :-)
I agree--bottom line is what the ears sense. Setup gets 90-95% accuracy, maybe more but the ears tell us what we like and sounds best. That's why there are knobs and ranges!! YEA!!!
