Hello Everyone:

Does anyone know how i could get my new home theatre system..Amphion media DVD/ Home entertainment system to play audio directly from the TV. I tried several times to move the audio and video cable, white and yellow to no avail. I want it so that the audio is coming out of the speakers not from the TV? I would appreciate some help.

Thanks,
DW

What kind of television do you have, and what kind of audio out capabilities does it have? Also, do you have a cable box or satellite receiver?

I am not too technical. It just has 6 outputs with 2, 2, 2 format. Just one white and one yellow. RCA A/V connection?

if you want to listen to cable over your home theater speakers, you need to input the sound signal into the amplifier (or receiver) instead of the television. the way i have my home theater hooked up is i hook the cable line into my tv, and theres red and white audio output jacks on my tv that i connect to the inputs on my receiver. so i turn the receiver to that input (video1) and turn on the tv. the audio is sent to the receiver and amplified to play over the speakers instead of on the tv speakers. if your cable box has audio outputs, just pipe those into the inputs on your reciever.

Actually, you should be able to pass the cable output to your tv and then to your home theater system. I have my Tivo, cable, PS2, etc. all going into audio inputs on my Sony HDTV. I then have one audio cable (l/r) running from my TV audio output into an audio input on my H/K receiver. When I want to run the audio through my receiver, I just have to shut off my TV speakers in the menu on the tv, and then the audio is piped to the receiver and my Axioms.

I generally always leave the speakers in the tv off, and exclusively listen through my receiver and Axioms, so there's really nothing to it. Try something like that and see if it works.

I don't suppose you could snap a photo of the back of the TV?

If it has RCA OUTPUTS (double check that they're out and not in), you need to simply run an RCA cable from the TV to the receiver (and perhaps check the menu for the TV). If the TV doesn't actually have outputs and only inputs, you can run RCA cables from the cable box to the receiver and bypass the TV for audio all together.
