Speaker problems

I have a sony surrond sound with sony reciever, when watching T.V. the left speaker is very loud and the right one you can hardly hear. Also when i turn the reciever to radio I only get sound from the subwoofer.
HELP

I'm suspecting this is not a problem with the speakers, but the receiver. Do you have another receiver you could test the speakers with, or vice-versa? Then you will know where the problem is.

A good way to verify that is to swap the left and right speakers. Does the loud one switch to the other side? If so, it's the speakers. If not, receiver.
As for the sub issue, sounds like receiver.

I agree it sounds like it may be the reciever, but double check all you connections.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

Have you calibrated you receiver/speakers?
