This question I'm sure has a very basic easy answer but since I don't know what it is, I'll ask the experts. I have a Yamaha RX-v657 and I'm debating on whether to get another receiver with higher output, etc. or go to a 5 or 7 channel amp-ie, Outlaw, Rotel, NAD. Would the amp connect to my receiver with a single cable or does each channel need a connection? See I told you it was simple!!!!

You'll need a pair of interconnects to hook up the amps left and right channels to the receivers preouts. Simple!

First, look at the pre-outs on your existing receiver to see what they are.
Second, you will need a cable for each channel that you wish to connect to the amplifier. That will probably be a cable with RCA connectors on both ends of some sort.
