I wanted to upgrade my computer speakers, so I decided to get some really nice stuff, and maybe went a little overboard .

First thing was a receiver. I will be going analog out from the soundcard primarily. I got an Outlaw 1070 because it's bad-ass, plus it has bass managment on the analog inputs. I'll be using only 2-channels at first, and almost bought their 2-channel retro receiver, but it isn't available for another "80 days" according to customer service. No big deal, I'll probably go 5.1 in the future anyway- even if it's just for games like BF2.

For speakers I went with Axiom M2's (2 of them), and an Outlaw LFM-2 subwoofer. I wavered between the M2 and the M3, and went with the M2 for it's slightly smaller footprint. These will be sitting on my desk so I didn't want them to be too big.

This system will have two duties- gaming and music- not so much for movies. I have a huge collection of mp3s and listen to them often, plus of course BF2 and other games/sims. I have an "X-fi" soundcard that is very nice quality, and I think will work well with this system. I think I went overboard, but oh well I like nice stuff.

Oh yeah, I own an Axiom system already. I have a M22/VP150/OS8/STF-2 system that I LOVE. Currently it's being powered by my trusty Yamaha RX-V2400, and does 90% movie/TV duty.

That's going to be a real nice system. I ran my home theater for a while with M2s and a big-ass sub (M60s were upstairs playing music) and I was constantly amazed how big a sound they could make.

I know a number of people who got into Axioms by picking up a couple of M2s or M22s for their computer system and finding the computer system now sounded better than their stereo / home theater speakers

That's quite the setup for a computer. Now one of my computers found its home IN the HT room... but thats a lil different.

I like good music when I work at the computer, but the wife wouldn't go for a speaker set for the desk.

So...I just have to settle for the M80s in the great room.

So are there any pitfalls to watch out for if I want to hook-up both of my subwoofers, to BOTH of my systems? I was wondering if there could be subwoofer damage if both systems happened to be on at the same time, and maybe they both sent conflicting signals and caused something "bad" to happen or something.

My computer is pretty much in the same room as my HT- it's in the adjoining dining room, but essentially it's the same room.

Actually it would work best in my system(s) if I used both of them for the HT, and one of them for the computer, so I'll do that if there isn't any issues to watch out for. Maybe I'll move my STF-2 to the side of the room with my computer, and put my new one where my STF-2 is now, and use the STF-2 for the computer subwoofer, and both of them for the HT. Is this reasonable?

It would be very dangerous to do it without a switcher.
