OK. Still no pictures yet, but carpet is going in today. That means that this afternoon (leaving work early), I get to remount my QS8s, screen, projector. Put up 5 wall sconces, move some "temporary" furniture in there, and be about set again to at least take a break before finishing up everything. I will also build a few shelves for the equipment rack and try to get them stained and installed later tonight. The hard part is going to be that I also have 2 couches (with hide-a-beds), my arcade, pinball machine, and a bunch of other stuff that needs to be put back in the basement as well, so I won't get a chance to tune things to the new room, or do more than just test run everything. But it will be good to have things working again after a few weeks with no movies or music.
Don't worry, pictures will come soon...

Sounds like you are a busy man. I am looking forward to the pictures, but can wait for "everything" to be done. At least you are getting to the fun part.

Speakers are in place, wall sconces wired up, shelves built (at least enought for the receiver, DVD player, or some DVD storage). All furniture is in. Arcade in place, pinball up and running, air hockey moved back in. Place cleaned up and all.
Projector is mounted, so is the screen (looks REALLY cool with the screen on a flat black wall. Image realy "pops" at you.
All was going well, until I just got too plain tired. I started working in the basement moving stuff back at about 1:45pm and now it is 1:10am and I am just too tired to finish. These late nights of 1:30am working, and then being at my regular 8-5 job each day has taken its toll.
I feel like I scrambled all day just to get everything up and going again, and I falled short just 2 feet before the finish line. Oh well, there is always tomorrow before relatives show up.
I'm off to bed.

Sounds like you have made great progress. "Failing just short of the finish line" seems pretty harsh -- I'm sure your HT already is in better shape than mine and I have people over all the time

Nick, I'm really enjoying reading about your progress with the new theater. Looking forward to seeing pics of the finished product. Thanks for sharing. As John says, for pity's sake, cut yourself some slack. I'm pooped just reading about it.

Good heavens, Nick, you're incredibly productive. I often spend an hour or more just figuring out how to do something before I even start to do it.
I'll bet it is fantastic. Hope you get to relax and enjoy it soon.

I recalibrated the speakers to the new room and WOW. What a HUGE difference over the old Home Theater "Area". Nothing like reducing total air volume, proper surround speaker placement, etc. I love my Axioms even more now. My wife even made a comment about how nice it sounds.
First movie will be this Friday. I'm going to watch 'Inside Man' which comes out tomorrow on DVD. Hope it is good.
I still have a lot to do, but it was nice to be able to get to bed last night before midnight. Tuesday I should be able to get some more staining done.
